Biography
I am a a Senior Researcher of the Department of Software for Space Systems and Interactive Visualization, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute for Software Technology, Germany.
I earned my Bachelor and Master degree in Computer Science at the University of Genova (Italy), in 2008 and 2010, respectively. I started my PhD in 2011 under the supervision of Professor Leila De Floriani. During Fall 2011, I've been a visiting PhD student at the University of Maryland collaborating with Kenneth Weiss.
In 2015, I got my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Genova defending a thesis on "A spatio-topological approach to the representation of simplicial complexes and beyond". I have been a Post-Doctoral Fellow Affiliate at Computer Science and Geographical Sciences departments of the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, from April 2015 to June 2016, and from July 2016 to June 2019, respectively.
My research interests include Spatial Data structures and Algorithms, Scientific Visualization, Topology-based Data Analysis, High Performance Computing (HPC), Geometric Modeling, and Geographic Information Systems.
